Two Coats Colder on stage

Ray Taylor - Anna Bass - Chris Bullen - David Baird

Two Coats Colder are a quirky progressive acoustic folk band performing a mix of self penned traditional & contemporary songs, The Line-up includes, Guitars, Bass, Mandolin & Harmonium. It’s hard to believe that Two Coats Colder have only been playing together since 2011, but it is true. These musican/singers, each with their own extensive individual careers going back over decades, came together at High Barn, the renowned beautiful period venue in Great Bardfield.

Folk that has a jaunty, almost quirky edge to it and makes you feel you might have been there; good songwriting tends to do that to you

(FATEA Showcase.)

This four-person band has been rapidly making a lasting impression amongst the folk clubs, music venues and Folk Festivals around the country (including Swanage, Shrewsbury, Moira Furnace, Boar’s Bridge, Wimborne, Ely, Folkstock, Banbury, Oxjam, Milkmaid, Cambridge, Royston, Bournemouth, Wessex, and Colchester)

The band enjoys an excellent reputation as headliners in their own right, but also have supported  a wonderful array of popular performers including Bob Fox, Emily McGuire,  Jim Moray, John Conolly, Elbow Jane, Rory McLeod, Sara Grey & Kieron Means, Vicki Swan & Jonny Dyer, Winter Wilson, The Bounty Hounds, and others. "Two Coats Colder deliver the warmth of every story within their songs and performance"  (Sue Marchant’s Big NIGHT In BBC Radio) and what does their public make of them? "No two songs are alike in their set list. Two Coats Colder are entertaining, thoughtful, and musicality oozes from every pore." - (Sheila Abrams) You won’t find a better value addition to your programme than including Two Coats Colder.

Their diary is constantly filling with reinvitations, as they continue to forge new friendships around the folk circuit and accept new invitations to play their extensive repertoire of original songs salt ‘n peppered with their own quirky take on traditional and contemporary songs.

Two Coats Colder are just what the folk scene needs, something a little different
